Richard was born in Jacksonville, FL on December 20, 1957. He graduated L.D. Bell High School in Hurst, TX Class of 1976. Richard lived on Cedar Creek Lake and loved wearing overalls and going fishing. He was a kind hearted person always lending a helping hand to anyone in need. He loved to entertain his friends for 4th of July with his massive fireworks displays. An extraordinarily talented person in numerous areas, he began in elementary school working on transistor radios that his grandmother would buy for him at garage sales and worked with his grandfather repairing televisions. He was a talented carpenter and electrician and worked many, many years in the construction industry. He learned auto paint and repairs at a very young age and began building and painting custom street rods and race cars while still in high school. He continued those talents throughout his life and was well recognized for his professional talents also. He could basically do anything he put his mind to and do it exceptionally well.
Richard was preceded in death by his grandparents Orval Hugh and Frances Marie Fithian Hodge of Snyder, TX and Lawrence and Helen Mayfield of Lubbock, TX. He is survived by his parents Wayne and Sue Simmons of Haslet, TX, sister Debbie King of Rockwall, TX, brother Larry Mayfield of Haltom City, TX, brother Michael Mayfield of Lake Worth, TX, brother Michael Simmons and wife Shauna of North Richland Hills, TX, brother Steven Simmons and wife Wendy of Haslet, TX, daughter Stephanie Holloway Pastusek and husband Jonathan of Fort Worth, TX, his dogs Duke "The Duck Dog" and Sadie, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and even more friends than we could ever list.

Condolences and prayers to your family. You went with us to Cowboys when Terry & Sherrill Watson arranged for Toby Keith tickets. So although we only met once, we all had the best time laughing and having fun.

Richard Dino Holloway and I first met in school at L.D.Bell HS. We played side by side in football our sophomore year. We became close friends right away, like we've known each other for ever. We shared our first apartment together, while still in HS. Wow, Shady Oaks Apartments. We had many good times there. We later had another apartment in Arlington. Richard and I were like Brothers and soon after Arlington we would both get married and our bachelor days were over. I could write a book on all the good times Richard and I had together, there were many. I was a part of his Family, as He was a part of mine. Richard was a Good Man, a Good Friend, a Good Brother. I will miss him dearly.
