Marian J. Embree passed away peacefully on September 5, 2016. She was born in Wakeeney, Kansas to Schuyler and Charlotte Spena. Marian graduated from Wewoka High School in Wewoka, Oklahoma.



On March 3, 1946 Marian married her high school sweetheart Calvin Embree after his service in the Navy in World War II. They shared fifty-eight wonderful years together. They began their marriage in Wewoka, Oklahoma where they had their two children, Steven and Caryl. As a family they were active in the First Methodist Church in Wewoka and later when they moved to Longview,...

Marian J. Embree passed away peacefully on September 5, 2016. She was born in Wakeeney, Kansas to Schuyler and Charlotte Spena. Marian graduated from Wewoka High School in Wewoka, Oklahoma.



On March 3, 1946 Marian married her high school sweetheart Calvin Embree after his service in the Navy in World War II. They shared fifty-eight wonderful years together. They began their marriage in Wewoka, Oklahoma where they had their two children, Steven and Caryl. As a family they were active in the First Methodist Church in Wewoka and later when they moved to Longview, Texas. Both Marian and her husband were active in scouting programs, he with the Boy Scouts of America, and she with the Camp Fire Girls. Marian had many interests such as cooking, sewing, crocheting, garden club and bridge club. She and Calvin loved travelling with family and wherever his business as a sales representative would send them. Calvin and Marian lived in Lewisville, Texas until his death in 2004.



Marian is survived by her son Steven Embree and his wife Barbara, daughter Caryl Mosher and her husband Rick; grandchildren Schuyler Spottswood and his wife Robyn, Stephanie Carpenter and her husband Jay; great-grandchildren Kierstin Spottswood, Savannah Carpenter, and Charlotte Carpenter.

Marian’s service will be held at Oakwood Cemetery in Wewoka, Oklahoma where she will be buried next to her husband Calvin and her parents.
