Obituary


Janet Elizabeth Macleod, 73, of Colleyville, Texas, passed away peacefully at home on 22 November 2016.



Janet will be buried at Arlington National Cemetery, Washington, D.C. at a time to be determined in the near future. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations may be made in her name to the United Services Organizations (USO) or the US Army Emergency Relief.



Janet was born and grew up in Springfield, Missouri before leaving to join Eastern Airlines in her first career position as a Flight Attendant in Miami, Florida followed by Washington, D.C....

Janet was born and grew up in Springfield, Missouri before leaving to join Eastern Airlines in her first career position as a Flight Attendant in Miami, Florida followed by Washington, D.C. She then joined her husband, a career Army Officer, in over sixteen years of assignments in The Kingdom of Thailand, Norfolk,Virginia, Washington, D.C., Monterey, California, Fort Hood, Texas, Fort Stewart, Georgia and Carlisle Barracks, Pennsylvania, and raising the family during her husband’s unaccompanied assignments. Janet has received the Department of the US Army Certificate of Appreciation for unselfish, faithful and devoted service, and a Certificate of Gratitude for faithful service rendered to the US Army Carlisle Barracks Community. She returned to Flight Attendant status with Air Transport International, a US Government Charter, and was serving in her twentieth year of of flight attendant operations around the world. Janet was preceded in death by her mother, Opal Baker of Springfield, Missouri.



Janet is survived by her husband of 47 years, Roger, two sons, Todd and Timothy, and three grandchildren, Connor, Quinn, and Catherine.
